Obituary

On February 28, 2014 Dolores “Zel” A. Taborsky, 91, a longtime resident of Oak Crest Village and beloved wife of the late Stanley Taborsky. Dolores was a graduate of the St. Wenceslaus School in East Baltimore and was an active participant in the alumni association for many years. She worked at Bendix-Frieze as an electronics technician and performed with the notorious Frieze follies which entertained troops during World War II. Her friends from Bendix later formed a club known as the Jester’s Ladies Club which sponsored many social events. Dolores was a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Engineers Club in Baltimore. She was very active with the St. Johns Old Timers (old tenth ward) in later years. During retirement she traveled extensively with her friends Rita and Helen. Dolores was an excellent cook and known for her holiday feasts and Czech specialties. Education was always a priority at the Tabossky household and her children graduated from Hopkins, Duke, and Loyola. She is survived by her children Craig of Baltimore, Alan of Parkville, Lee Ann Bandy and her husband Michael of Columbia, grandson Dean Finckel and cousin Bea Kaspar.
Family and friends are in invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, March 4th, in The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at 9 A.M. Inurnment will be in Bohemian National Cemetery on Monday, March 10th at 11a.m. Donations may be made in her honor to The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 8501 Loch Raven Blvd, Towson, MD 21286 or St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 2111 Ashland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21205.
