Eileen J. Dunne, of Medford, died peacefully at the Leonard Florence Center after a brave battle against Lou Gherig’s Disease. She was 62.
Born and raised in Lavally, Tuam, County Galway, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary Jo (Kelly) Dunne. As a young woman Eileen came to Boston to attend Boston College. After her graduation she enjoyed a long career until her disability required her retirement. She worked in publishing and public relations with Little, Brown and Co., the New England Audubon Society of Harvard University, the Abbey Theater of Dublin, Ireland, and Digital Computers. A wonderful and kind friend to many she will be missed by her partner, family and friends.
The loving partner of Bill Kelley, she was a devoted sister to James Dunne and his wife Sophia, Maureen Gilligan and her husband Donal, Geraldine Carney, Teresa Burdeu and her husband Gregory, Martin Dunne, Irene Pfeiffer and her husband Wayne, and the late Michael J. Dunne. A dear sister-in-law of Margaret Dunne, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, March 4th at St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 LaGrange Street, West Roxbury at 1 PM.
