Bobby Joe Wiggins, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Ocilla Church of God with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Chris Wiggins will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Wiggins was born May 31, 1946, in Newell, Alabama. A former resident of Alabama, Mr. Wiggins moved to the community in 1972. He was a brick mason and a former supervisor for the water department at Fitzgerald Water Light and Bond. He enjoyed fishing, collecting and going on picking adventures for unusual items. Mr. Wiggins was a member of Ocilla Church of God.
He is survived by his wife: Dolores Wiggins of Fitzgerald; children: Mark Wiggins of Fitzgerald, Chris & April Wiggins of Adel, Pete & Kim Wiggins of Douglas and JoDee & David Grice of Fitzgerald; twelve grandchildren: Jessica Wiggins, Matthew Wiggins, Elizabeth Wiggins, Alli Shealey, Austin Bozeman, Levi Wiggins, Chet Wiggins, Elijah Wiggins, Rosie Wiggins, Cohen Grice, Anna Fletcher and Jude Davis; sisters: Virginia Wright of Fitzgerald, Gelene Spradlin of Fitzgerald, Betty Spradlin of Fitzgerald, Glenda & Lamar Giddens of Ocilla and Vickie & Jimmy Branam of Brunswick; brothers: Buck & Romelle Reaves of Fitzgerald, Ray & Brenda Reaves of Brunswick and Gene Reaves of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his parents: Damon Reaves and Eula Beckie Spradlin Smith and a brother: Clarence L. “Bud” Reaves.
