Obituary

Phyllis A. (Szczepan) Olejasz, 86, of New Bedford died Friday October 22, 2004 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Edward Olejasz and the former wife of the late Herve St. Pierre.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Marcin and Honorata (Swierad) Szczepan, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

She was a communicant of the Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church.

Mrs. Olejasz was formerly employed by Acushnet Company as an inspector for the Golf Ball division for many years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Acushnet Company Retirees and the Polish-American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Fallon of Milton; a son, Thomas St. Pierre and his wife Sandra of New Bedford; a sister Adele "Del" Szczepan of Dartmouth; several grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Michael St. Pierre, mother-in-law of the late James Raymond Fallon, and the sister of the late Thaddeus Szczepan, Mitchell Szczepan and Chester Szczepan.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 25, 2004 at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Polish National Catholic Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday October 24, 2004 from 1-5 PM.
