Obituary

Malcolm L. “Mike” Weston, Jr. age 85, of Brockton, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his home. He was the loving husband of Mary T. (Hallfelder) (Coughlan) Weston. A lifelong resident of Brockton, Mike was the son of the late Malcolm L. and Harriet A. (Covert) Weston, Sr. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Navy Seabee’s. For 40 years he had been employed in the foundry industry, working at Walworth Valve Company in Braintree and retired as a Supervisor from Wollaston Alloy, also in Braintree. Mike was known for his great sense of humor and will be remembered for the plaid tam he always wore. He enjoyed time spent with his wife Mary, family, painting, gardening, traveling, fishing and camping and playing the organ. He had been an active member of the Brockton Council on Aging, enjoying his time on their Friends Board, Art Class and Men’s Club. He was a former President of South Shore Organ Club and Foundry Men’s Association.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by his children Stephen Weston of New Hampshire, Cathy Spera of Canton, Cheryl White of Brockton, James Coughlan of Mashpee, Donna Kozak of East Falmouth, Nancy Coughlan of Brockton and Jeannie Benvissuto of Bridgewater; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters Carolyn Audette of Middleton, ID, and Priscilla Eisen of Boise, ID, a brother Paul F. Weston of Halifax, an aunt Rosamond “Aunt T” Pollard of Bridgewater and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Saturday 12:00 to 2:30pm followed by a funeral service at 2:30pm.
