Obituary

Edmond (Eddy) Michael George, 85, of Bedford, died February 23, 2014 after a period of declining health surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 4, 1928 in Manchester, he was the son of Joseph and Zahia (Savaclay) George. He was educated in the local school system, graduated from Manchester Central High School and attended St. Anselm College.

During WWII, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Over the years, Ed had been the manager of the SACA Club and The Club Sahara. Most recently, he had been well known for his association at the Even Par Social Club in Manchester. He had also been a member of the Manchester Country Club for over 40 years.

Ed was an avid golfer and well-skilled pool player. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You would often find him sitting at his table at the Even Par reading the paper or watching golf tournaments, with his beloved dog, Bogey, by his side. He also enjoyed his many visits with the other family pets, Diego, Tora and Sissy.

Ed will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He had a huge heart and gave unselfishly to anyone who asked for his help.

He was predeceased by his wife Joan (Joni) T. (Case) George in 2002.

Family members include his children Robin George of Manchester; Edmond M. George II and daughter-in-law Cynthia (Dakoulas) Sheehan of Manchester; Steven C. George of Manchester; his grandsons, Michael Domosiaris of Manchester and Steven E. George of Texas; great-granddaughter, Sophia Domosiaris; his longtime companion, Deborah Perron of Bedford; his Godson, Thomas Minuti of Manchester; one sister, Agnes Bockman of Londonderry; nephew, Steve Pellerin of Texas; nieces, Gayle (George) Wilshire of Ohio, Shelley (George) Welch of Florida, and Donna George of Peterborough; and close friend Peter Franggos, whom Eddy thought of as a son. He was also predeceased by siblings Philip George and Isabel Pellerin.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in Our Lady of the Cedars Church. Burial with military honors followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St, Bedford, NH.
