BEVERLY: Donald J. Ouellette, 75, died peacefully, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born in Fall River on April 27, 1938, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anita (Gauvin) Ouellette. He had resided in Fall River for many years before moving to Beverly in 1970.
A U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged on June 1, 1964. Don was employed as a brick layer for Zampell Refractories for many years.
Don is survived by his longtime companion, Marie Smith; four sons, Donald Fortier, Mark Ouellette and his wife, Angela, Michael Pratt and Mark Pratt; four step-children, Ann Anthony, Rick DePasquale, Shannon Everett and Lee Smith; two sisters, his twin, Diane Souza and Cecile Knight; his beloved dog, “Papino” and several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by three brothers, Roger, Roland and Fred Ouellette, two sisters, Theresa Ouellette and Rita DeMeo and his dog, “Oreo”.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Sunday, April 27th in the Herman A. Spear Post #31 American Legion, Judson St., Beverly from 1 -3 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
