Obituary

Alyse E. (Olsen) Ferguson of Hopkinton, formerly of Natick, died on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute / Brigham & Women’s Hospital of Boston. She was sixty-two years old.

Raised in Natick, she graduated from Marian High School, class of 1969. She continued her education with evening classes at Boston College and graduated first in her class, summa cum laude with a degree in accounting.

She worked for over twenty years as an accountant with Data General Corp. of Westborough and Genzyme of Cambridge for five years. She was most recently the supervisor of the after school program with SMOC of Framingham, a job she truly loved.

Alyse was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, shopping and her beloved dog Casey.

She was the loving daughter of Alice E. (Baker) Olsen of Natick & the late John L. Olsen. Devoted mother of Patrick J. Canastar, Jr. of Hopkinton. Long time wife of Donald F. Ferguson of Brighton and former wife of Patrick J. Canastar of Milford.

Caring sister of Valerie Collins & her husband Jim of AZ, Laureen Fisher & her husband Jim of Natick, John Olsen & his wife Patty of Maine, Cheryl Ebeling & her husband Al of Framingham, Pamela Whitelaw & her husband Patrick of Marlboro, Kenneth Olsen & his wife Jacqui of Medway, Lawrence Olsen of Maine, Erik Olsen & his wife Tracey of S. Grafton, Leigh Olsen of Natick, Jennifer Gerard & her husband Brian of Medway & Marc Olsen & his wife Nicole of W. Boylston. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

Funeral from John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. at Natick Common on Friday, February 28th at 9:00AM. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives & Friends respectfully invited.

Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM. Interment is private.
