Obituary

Paul F. Fitzpatrick, 89, of Tewksbury and Marshfield, formerly of Winchester, passed away on Feb. 20 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late P. Francis and Mary F. (Connor) Fitzpatrick. Mr. Fitzpatrick was raised and educated in Winchester, and was a graduate of Winchester High School. After high school, Paul enrolled in the Army Air Corps and served during World War II. Upon discharge, he attended Boston University, where he earned his B.S. in Business.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was employed for many years at Albany Carpet Company where he specialized in Oriental carpets. In his spare time, he enjoyed swimming every day at his cottage in Marshfield. He also enjoyed extensive traveling with his wife Selena, and gardening, especially growing cosmo flowers, which he shared with his Marshfield neighbors. He also liked playing Cribbage and Bridge.

He was the beloved husband of the late Selena (Cady) for over 50 years until her passing in 2001, and the loving father of Carol Dermody and her husband Joseph and Paul D. Fitzpatrick and his wife Deborah Beeman Fitzpatrick all of Tewksbury. He was the brother of Marie Campbell of Stoneham, dear grandfather of Jennifer Dermody, Brian and Brandon Fitzpatrick, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. His Funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Tues. Feb. 25th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 4-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St. Reading, MA 01867.
