Obituary

TAUNTON - Harvey (Sonny) W. Wilson Jr., age 90, has entered into eternal rest and is reunited with his beloved wife, Wilma.
Born and raised in Raynham, he was the son of the late Harvey Sr. and Anna (Lane) Wilson.
Harvey served his country during World War II as a gunner's mate with the US Navy, serving off Normandy, France and in the Philippines, and was awarded several service medals.
He was predeceased by his wife, Wilma L. (Johnson) Wilson with whom he was married for over sixty-two years. Survivors include six children, TSgt (Ret) William Wilson and his wife, Charlotte; CPO (Ret) Patricia Slaughter and her husband, Lynn; Joanne Kellogg and her husband, Richard; Bonnie Wilbur and her husband, Thomas; Terri Fortunato and her husband, Paul and James Wilson and his wife, Lisa; a brother, Joseph Wilson and a sister, Ann Horton, both of Raynham; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Harvey was also the father of the late Margaret Wilson; the grandfather of the late Faith Kellogg; and the brother of the late Leo, Harold, and John-Paul Wilson.
A long-distance truck driver, he was employed for many years by Western Auto and Melville Trucking, traveling around New England and the East coast.
When not on the road, Harvey spent his time with his family and helping with the family business, Wilson's Peach Orchard in Raynham.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Feb. 24th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 23rd from 3 to 6 p.m.
