Obituary

Michael J. D'Addario, a resident of Wakefield, passed away at his home in Wakefield on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife and 3 daughters after a 1 year courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 62 years old.

Michael was born in Malden on September 26, 1951, the son and youngest child of the late Michael J. D'Addario Sr. and Anna (DeRusso) D'Addario. Michael was educated in the Malden Public Schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1969. He then went on to work with his father in the family business, D'Addario's Puschcart, where he met his wife, Donna Pedersen, who he married on September 26, 1976.

Mike went on to earn his electrician's license and to work for his brother-in-law and best friend, Henry, at Pedersen Electric before starting his own company, RCN Electric, named for his three girls, Regina, Cara, and Nikki. For the last 15 years, Mike worked as an electrical programmer and site manager for the Pasek Corporation in South Boston.

Michael was a lover of many things - first and foremost his wife and daughters, his son-in-law, his family, and his dogs Coco and Kali. He loved camping in the White Mountains, the Rolling Stones, the Red Sox, wine, dabbling in mixology, and a good meal. Michael was the life of the party and looked for any reason to bring his family together for celebrations filled with food and laughter. He was fondly known as "Uncle Mike" to numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, and would remind everyone, with a mischievous glimmer in his eye and his famous crooked smile, "We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time."

Mike fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer and maintained his sense of humor, positivity, and optimism throughout.

Mike is the adored and loving husband of 37 years to Donna M. (Pedersen) D'Addario. He is the devoted father of Regina D'Addario of Wakefield, Cara D'Addario and her husband Zachary Sousa of South Boston and Nikki D'Addario of Wakefield. He is the beloved brother of Diane Brissette and her husband Paul of Saugus and Arlene Iandoli and her husband Jerry of Arlington. He is the beloved son-in-law of Jean and Henry Pedersen of Wakefield. He is the beloved brother-in-law of Henry Pedersen and his wife Donna of Saugus and Laurie Ledin and her husband Greg of Wakefield. He is the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
