Obituary

MANCHESTER - Andre "Andrew" Huppe, 76, of Manchester, passed away after a period of declining health on Feb. 18, 2014, at Bedford Hills Nursing Home.He was born in Manchester on Dec. 27, 1937, the son of George and Beatrice (Trudel) Huppe. He was educated in local schools and earned his associate's degree in computer science from Hesser College.Andrew worked as an accountant for Riddle Spring Poultry Farm. He then became the owner and business manager of Wee Play School in Manchester for many years. At Wee Play School, he was known as "Uncle Andy" and touched so many lives he will always be remembered for his sense of humor and loving nature.He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family.His family includes his loving wife of 54 years, Louise (Grenier) Huppe of Manchester; two sons, David and wife Gail Huppe of Bow, and Dan Huppe and wife Marie of Manchester; a daughter, Amy Barron and husband Dennis of Manchester; five grandchildren, Dexter, Jamie, Kevin, Tyler and Dayna; one great-granddaughter, Kalianna; out of a family of 10, he has two living brothers, Marcel and George Huppe, both of Manchester; two sisters, Pauline Perron of Tennessee and Doris Huppe of Manchester; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Armand, Maurice, Robert, Ronald Huppe and Theresa Baines..

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Catherine Church, followed by committal prayers in the mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations for Masses may be made in his memory to St. Catherine Church, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester, 03104 or to the Adult Day Care Program at Easter Seals, 555 Auburn St., Manchester, 03103.
