Steven R. Thayer, 72 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 18th in his new residence at Linden Ponds, Hingham. Steve was born in Weymouth where he lived his whole life until October 2013 when he moved to Hingham. He was a graduate of Weymouth South High School and a graduate of Northeastern University in 1964. For more than 20 years he travelled the country as a service engineer for Howden Sirocco/Westinghouse.
Steve was the beloved husband of the late Edith I. Thayer, the loving father of Michelle L. Murphy and Kimberly A. Philbrook both of Hanson, MA and the devoted grandfather of 7 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 2 great grandchildren. Steven will be lovingly missed by his family and friends.
Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday February 22 from 12 to 2 PM immediately followed by the Funeral Service at 2 PM.
