Somerset – Josè Filipe Carvalho, 93, passed away February 18, 2014. Born May 3, 1920 in Mosteiros, São Miguel, Açores. Son of the late Manuel Filipe and Helena (Aguiar) Carvalho. Beloved husband of Dilia (Reis) Carvalho. Loving father of Isalia, Manuela, Isaura, Josè and Emanuel. Father-In-Law of Patricia, Laurie and Victor. Grandfather of Sophia, Cassandra, Karisa, Lauren, Erik, Jason, Shaun and Nathan. Great-grandfather of Lucy, Susannah, Hope and Hayden. Brother of Maria Helena Raposa. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Tomè, Antone, Francisco, Filipe, and João.
Known to many as “Josè Filipe”, his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed his garden and vineyard and making homemade wine. He was a very caring and good natured person who will be dearly missed by his family and many people whose lives he touched.
