Obituary

Yvonne M. LaRoche, 101, formerly of Maple St. Woonsocket died Sunday morning at St. Antoine Residence.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Paul and Roseanna (Peloquin) Ethier. She was a lifelong resident of the city prior to moving to North Smithfield several years ago.
Mrs. LaRoche was employed as a switch board operator at L’Union St. Jean Baptiste in Woonsocket until retiring in 1979. She previously also worked at the Hebert Knitting Mill for a number of years.
Mrs. LaRoche was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish and a member of Ladies Guild of Precious Blood, the St. Joseph and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Senior Citizens groups and the AARP. Yvonne loved her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was the mother of the late Col. Robert P. LaRoche, USAF who died in November 2002 and is interred at Arlington National Cemetery. She was the sister of the late Napoleon, Helidare, Albert, Raymond, Jeanne and Cecelia Ethier, Marguerite Laferriere and Annette Raymond. She is survived by a step-son Eddie LaRoche of FL, three grandchildren Robert K. LaRoche, and his wife Cara, of Pittsburgh, PA, Paul S. LaRoche of Beverly, MA. Dawn LaRoche of Indianapolis, IN and step-granddaughter Debra Francis, and two great-grandchildren Francesca and Izabella. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
A Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 in St. Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Ave., North Smithfield. Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Antoine Residence Activities Fund, 10 Rhodes Ave, North Smithfield RI. 02896. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
