Doud,
Ruby Dorothy age 94, of Ft Myers, FL passed away peacefully on Thurs, Feb. 13th.
Born May 27th, 1919 to Swedish immigrants Frank and Sigrid Peterson in St. Paul, MN. Ruby graduated from Johnson High School in 1938 and received a BA in Accounting from Wheaton College, IL in 1941. She married the late George Walker Doud in 1942. They lived in Wheaton, IL, Minneapolis and East Norriton, PA.
Ruby loved cooking, gardening, birding, playing games, reading and making puzzles.
She worked as an accountant much of her life but devoted herself to her family and her Church. Ruby had a major impact on many lives with her godliness, friendship, love, humor, creativity and generosity. She spent countless hours helping those in need with whatever she could do, including helping to start and run the food and clothing bank in Norristown, now run by Interfaith.
Ruby is survived by five children; Connie Doud of Colorado Springs, Judy Engum of Minneapolis, Debbie Caraher of East Norriton, Randall G. Doud of Minneapolis, and Stephen P. Doud of East Norriton. She has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Sun. Feb 23rd from 5-7pm, services on Mon. Feb 24th at 10am at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 E. 7th Ave, North St Paul, MN 55109 and burial at Union Cemetary, St Paul. Additionally, a celebration of life luncheon will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Norristown on Sat. March 8th, www.firstpresnorristown.org.
