Doris (Mulcairns) Vaughan, 93, of Dartmouth died Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Oaks Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Allen T. Vaughan.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late James A. and Rose E. (Davignon) Mulcairns, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Dartmouth 28 years ago.
Mrs. Vaughan was formerly employed as a bank manager for the New Bedford Five Cents Savings Bank until her retirement.
She attended the Dartmouth Council of Aging, where she enjoyed singing in the Key Note Chorus playing at local nursing homes. She was a member of the Dartmouth Walking Club. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.
Survivors include her son, Allen T. Vaughan, Jr. and his wife Diana of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Cathy Bergeron and her companion Robert Deneault and James A. Vaughan and his wife Michelle; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Vaughan, Jennifer Freitas, Tabitha Vaughan, and Alana Bergeron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late James and Frederick Mulcairns.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, her 94th birthday, at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
