Leona M. Marcotte, 65, of Silvestri Circle, Derry, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at her home following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Salem, Mass. on October 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Raymond H. and Elizabeth (Dennis) Huntley. She was a resident of Derry for most of her life and was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1954. She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed working with crafts, and spending time with her family. She touched the heart of everyone she met.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert A. Marcotte of Derry, two sons, Lawrence A. Marcotte of Londonderry, Robert D. Marcotte of Lehigh Acres, Fla., four daughters, Sheri Couture of Manchester, Sandy MacGregor of Derry, Tina Cate of Concord, Barbara Kenney of Pittsfield, 19 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother, Raymond H. Huntley of Raymond, two sisters, Barbara Pohle of Inverness, Fla., June Grendron of Portland, Ore., several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 9:00 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, March 22nd from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8.
