Mrs. Kimberly J. (Cotter) DeCastro, age 58, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 14, 2014 after a period of declining health. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of Ruth (McCarthy) Cotter and the late James Cotter. Kim was a graduate of Taunton schools. She worked several years as a secretary at Weir Cooperative Bank and as an office worker at Cutter Psychological. Kim enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially hosting her annual gathering for the Taunton Christmas Parade at her residence on Broadway. Kim is survived by her mother, Ruth Cotter Mott and her husband Slater Mott, Jr. of Warwick, R.I., whom she cared for over the past several years. She is also survived by her children: Joshua DeCastro of Taunton and Kasey DeCastro Moniz and her husband, John of Taunton, as well as her grandchildren, Ruby and Tooey; her ex-husband, Rufus DeCastro; her siblings: Sharon Demaral and her husband, Tony of Taunton, Dale Cotter and wife Sheila Stackhouse of South Yarmouth, Joan Dowd and her husband, Tom of Falmouth, Robin Sacco and her husband, Robert of Orlando, Fla., Chris Desalliers and husband, Jack of Yardley, Pa., Kevin Cotter and wife Chris of Lakeville, Daniel Cotter of Taunton and Colleen Cotter of Taunton, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Sunday, February 23 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M
