Millbury - Gwendolyn H. (Woodward) Snickers, 92, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, in the Millbury Healthcare Center. Her husband, Clifford Snickers, predeceased her. Gwen was very proud to be the eldest of five generations. She leaves her daughter and caretaker of many years, Linda Jacevicius of Worcester and Edward A. Dupre of Sterling; a son, Richard C. Redfield Jr., of Dudley; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Ricky Redfield.
Gwen was born in New Hampshire, daughter of Benson and Harriett (Barlow) Woodward. She graduated from Keene High School in New Hampshire and The Girls Trade School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN in the Harvard Nursing Home on John Street in Worcester for over 22 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, did volunteer work with the elderly, was a past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, enjoyed playing bingo, and visiting the local casinos. She will be remembered as a very compassionate person whose smile could light up a room. She was also a very strong person and was considered a "rock" by many who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, from 11-12am in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Activities Department, c/o Cathy Grecko at the Millbury Healthcare Center, 312 Millbury Ave. Millbury or to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden St. Worcester, MA 01606.
