TAUNTON – Joseph Fonseca, husband of Brenda K. (Ransome) Fonseca of Taunton, died at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Brighton on Feb. 14, 2014.
He was 50 years old.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he was the son of Maria C. (Perfeito) DaFonseca of Fall River and the late Joao DaFonseca.
A Taunton resident since 1970, he was employed as a tractor-trailer driver for Cumberland Farms.
A motorcycle enthusiast, Joe enjoyed fishing, paintballing with his sons, nephews and cousins, and taking naps with his dog on the backyard swing.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves two sons, Joseph M. Fonseca of Seattle, WA and Gregory A. Fonseca of Taunton; two brothers, James DaFonseca of Swansea and Bart DaFonseca of Brockton; two sisters, Ana Bela Machado and Isaura DaFonseca, both of Fall River; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday Feb. 18th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 17th from 5 to 8 p.m.
