Obituary

Anthony L. “Tony” Maccini, a long time Wellesley resident, died October 17, 2004 at the Wingate at Sudbury Nursing Home in Sudbury. He was 86. Tony was born in Wellesley in 1918 and was the son of the late Louis and Celeste (Pacelli) Maccini. Tony lived in Wellesley for many years and belonged to the Italo-American Educational Club of Wellesley. He was also the owner of Wellesley College Taxi. Tony served his country during WW II serving in the United States Army.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth C. (James) Maccini. Devoted father of Ginger Neher of Wayland and Anthea Maccini of Wellesley. Grandfather of Stacey Miller and her husband Matthew of Millis, and Jamie Neher and his wife Jennifer of Tequesta, FL. Great grandfather of Abigail Miller. Brother of the late John, Charles, Peter, Victor, and Pauline Particelli, Geneva Fitzgerald, and Louis Polletta. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley, on Tuesday, Oct. 26. at 8:00am. Funeral mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 9:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Monday 4:00-8:00pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Donations can be made in Tony’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., South Boston, MA 02210.
