HOWARD - Virginia M. Howard, 85, passed away Sunday evening, February 9. 2014 at her Yulee residence.
She was born April 29, 1928 in Columbus, GA and moved to Yulee 39 years ago from Panama City, FL.
Mrs. Howard enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and cooking. She was a devoted wife and mother and a friend to everyone. She never denied help to anyone who asked. The world is left a better place because of her life.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Alene McDaniels, Lucille Kemp and Nettie Wathen.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James H. Howard of Yulee, FL; children, Robert Whitney, III, Christopher Bruce Sasser, James Gregory Sasser, Wendy Douglas and Pamela Motley; daughter in law, Sonja Whitney; her brother, Robert E. Jacobs; a brother in law, Jack Wathen; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, in the Stephens Chapel at Green Pine Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Sides officiating. Interment will follow in Green Pine Cemetery. Viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
