Patrick J. Hayes III, a lifelong resident of Somerville, entered into eternal life on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at his home in Somerville following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 53 years old.
Pat was born in Cambridge on September 26, 1960, a son of the late Patrick J. Hayes II and Gertrude (Boyle) Hayes. He grew up in Somerville where he was educated in the Somerville Public School system. Pat had been working as a painter and laborer for a local construction company before his illness.
Pat is the beloved father of Stacie Hayes, Justyne Collier, Patrick J. Hayes IV and the late Danny P. Hayes Nunes. He is the devoted brother of Elizabeth "Betty" Hayes, Virginia Celata, Theresa Hayes, Christine (Hayes) Salamone and Jane Hayes. He is the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Pat's Memorial Gathering on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 3 to 7 P.M. followed by his Funeral Service at 7 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
