Jean M. Wood
North Augusta, SC – Entered into rest Sunday, February 09, 2014, Mrs. Jean M. Wood, 73, loving wife of the late Peter H. Wood.
Mrs. Wood was a native of Chattanooga, TN but has lived in the Augusta area for a number of years. She was a graduate of Webster College and retired as a teacher from Aiken Technical College. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was involved with many ministries there. Her family cherished her loving spirit.
Family members include daughter: Mary Parel and husband Scott; sons: Pete Wood and wife Amanda, Bill Wood and wife Peggy; grandchildren: Kayla Parel, Cory Parel, Patrick Wood, Casey Wood; sister: Ann Thompson. She is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Payne.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 1:00PM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Reverend Jacob Joseph, CMI officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the Mass until 3:30PM. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanoga,TN at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 856 Old Edgefield Rd., North Augusta, SC 29841 or to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 3310 Commerce Drive, Augusta, GA 30909.
Chattanooga, TN Arrangements:
The visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00PM at the Holy Family Hall at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 South Moore Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37412. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 12:00PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Reverend James Vick officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN immediately following the Mass.
