Waino I. Jyringi, 85 of 31 Wells Street, Rochdale section of Leicester died Monday Oct. 18 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife Dorothy M. (Dumas) Jyringi, two sons Wayne A. Jyringi of Charlton and Todd A. Jyringi of Rochdale, a daughter Darlene M. Jyringi of Stony Brook, New York, a sister Helen "Tyyne" Soucy of Auburn, six grandchildren Alexis, Nathan, Rachelle, Stephanie Jyringi, Lindsey and Hailey Malbon, and a great-grandson Collin Jyringi. He is pre-deceased by two brothers Niilo & Aarne Jyringi. Mr. Jyringi was born in Royalston son of Elias and Selma (Visuri) Jyringi. He was a Sales Representative at Standard Die set Co. and a former Oxford Police Officer. He also was a volunteer at the Rochdale Fire Department. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He was a past commander and life member of the Rochdale VFW and a member of the American Legion Shannon Davis Post. He was also a member of St. Aloyisius-St. Jude Church. The funeral will be held Thursday Oct. 21 from MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius- St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
