Robert William Quintal of North Andover died on Friday, February 7, 2014 of natural causes at home surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Priscilla (Cronin) with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Devoted father of Kathleen (Quintal) Kotce and the late Stanley Kotce of Chico, CA, Robert Quintal and Christine of Eliot, ME, Judy Quintal of North Andover, John Quintal and Jean of Boston, David Quintal and Monica of Salem, N.H., Paul Quintal of North Andover, Anne (Terry) Walton and her husband Robert of North Andover and Michael Quintal of North Andover. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Doris (Quintal) Foucher and the late Henry Foucher of Arizona, Rita (Lonergan) Quintal and the late Joseph ‘Tom’ Quintal of Methuen, and Richard and Patricia Quintal of Andover. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Kotce) Stone, David Kotce, Alex Kotce, Zachary Quintal, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Anthony Quintal, Giovanni Quintal and Julian Quintal. Additionally many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Labbe) Quintal of Methuen. Born on April 26, 1933 in Lawrence, he graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1951 and Boston College in 1955 with a B.S.B.A. in Accounting. He proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps for 2 years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1957.
He was the owner operator of Quintal Furniture and Factory Furniture Outlet in Lawrence, MA for a combined 43 years before his retirement.
The Quintal family is greatly appreciative of the compassionate care provided by Alicia, Gloria, Jill and Rachel of Beacon Hospice.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 35 Merrimack St., North Andover.
