Tommie Luke Eastridge, 71, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, February 7, 2014 at her residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Monday, February 10, 2014, at St. Peters United Methodist Church with Rev. Annette Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Eastridge was born February 25, 1942, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Henry Wiley & Mary Barbara Snellgrove Luke. She received her nurse’s training at the former Ben Hill County Hospital and worked as an LPN at Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta as well as for Dr. Roland Matthews in Burlington, North Carolina. She attended Moultrie Tech for her EMT training and was formerly employed with Ben Hill County EMS. An avid reader, Mrs. Eastridge enjoyed growing flowers and loved to travel. She was a member of St. Peters United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Dee Eastridge of Fitzgerald; one daughter: Pam Ross of Fitzgerald; three step-children: Tom & Shannon Eastridge of Texas, Vale & Matt Johnson of Mississippi, Kim Bolin of Springfield, Missouri, and Larry Gray of Missouri; three grandchildren: Peyton, Luke, and Christian; four step-granddaughters, five step-grandsons; nine step-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Cynthia & Bobby Dean of Fitzgerald; three nephews; three great-nephews and one great-niece. She will also be missed by her beloved pets: Pete, Gracie, and Sally. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son: Rob “Bruno” Eastridge.
