Obituary

Peter J. Leovich, III, 70, of Worcester died Friday, February 7th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. He leaves two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Leovich-Heigel and her husband, Eric of Worcester and Nora Allard and her husband, David of Fitchburg and their mother, Frances (Quinn) Leovich of Worcester; a son, Peter J. Leovich, IV and his mother, Rebecca (McAvey) Leovich of West Boylston; a sister, Joyce M. Leovich of Millbury; three grandchildren, Carl, Sophie and Mary and many cousins including, Joan and Phyllis.
He was born in Worcester the son of Peter J. Leovich, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Shea) Leovich. Mr. Leovich worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 25 years as a bridge inspector retiring in 2011. He was a member of Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Church and a former member of St. Cecilia’s Church in Leominster. Peter enjoyed watching movies reading books and travelling. While travelling he enjoyed visiting different churches. Peter was very handy and active. He was always landscaping or renovating something. In 2009, Peter donated land to the Dudley Conservation Land Trust forming Leovich Landing, the only boat launch on the French River.
His funeral is Tuesday, February 11th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, February 10th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 596 Cambridge Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
