Virginia H. (Stickel) Johnson, 89, of Bellingham, formerly of Locust Valley, New York and Chatham, New Jersey, died February 6 in Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Johnson who died in 1997.
Born in New York City, September 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Holden) Stickel, Mrs. Johnson was raised in Maspeth, New York and had lived in Locust Valley, New York and Chatham, New Jersey for many years before moving to Bellingham in 2005.
A homemaker, Mrs. Johnson was an avid New York Times crossword puzzle devotee.
She is survived by her sons, Robert F. Johnson and his longtime partner Mary Margolies of Denver, Colorado and Christopher B. Johnson and his wife Mary of Franklin.
She was the mother of the late Douglas J. Johnson.
She is also survived by her adored grandsons, Christopher P., Timothy J. and Gregory R. Johnson.
Her calling hours will be held on Sunday February 9 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street Franklin from 2-4 p.m.
Interment will be in New York.
