Obituary

Manchester– Maurice A. Desmarais Sr., 78, died February 6, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Manchester on October 27, 1935 the son of Albert and Eva (Baril) Desmarais and had been a lifelong resident of this community.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and held membership in the American Legion Wm. J. Jutras Post 43 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8214.
Prior to his retirement he had been a truck driver for NH Supply.
He enjoyed spending time with family and great friends, hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Osiel) Desmarais who died April 23, 2005 and one sister, Olive Leclair who died on March 22, 2011.
Members of his family include four daughters, Kathy Merrill, Joyce Desmarais, Janice Bureau and Tracy Desmarais, all of Manchester, and one son, Maurice A. Desmarais, Jr. of Crested Butte, CO., 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, his sister, Irene Trumble, his lifelong friend and brother-in-law Charles Leclair, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM at the J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St..
Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 10 AM in the funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
