Obituary

Holden - Albert S. Andersen, 67, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Saint Francis Home of Worcester. His wife of 43 years, Teresa H. (Sadowsky) Andersen, died in 2011. He leaves his beloved and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Tarsha and Charles G. Stone, who lovingly cared for him in their home until recent weeks. He also leaves a sister, Deanna Kingston. Albert was born in Worcester, son of Anna (Bonczek) and Albert J. Andersen. He earned a Master's Degree from Clark University and was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from UMass Medical Center, University Campus, where he was a bio-tech chemical engineer. He and his longtime friend, Russell Mattson, started and ran A&M Safety Consultants and Kalibra Waste Disposal. He was a hazmat safety instructor at Quinsigamond Community College, Northeastern, and Anna Maria College. Al was the first president of the Quinsigamond Alumnae Association. He enjoyed vacationing with his family and working in his vegetable garden.

Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Tuesday, Feb. 11, 5-8 pm. The funeral will be held from Nordgren's on Wed., Feb. 12, with a 10 am Mass at St. George's Catholic Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
