Obituary

Roland Earle Teague, Jr., 74, passed away on February 2, 2014 in the Golden Living Center in Gloucester. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Lovering) Teague, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Born in Danvers on March 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Roland E. and Elsie (Peterson) Teague, Sr. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1958. He served his country with the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Roland earned his bachelor’s degree at Salem State College. He had been employed at H.E. Raymond's in Peabody and as an accountant with Essex County Club in Manchester-by-the-Sea for many years. He served as a past president of the local chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

Roland enjoyed vacationing in Disney World with his wife and special friends Mary and Jimmy every year for many years. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He had deep affection for his German Shepherd dogs and Siamese cats. Most of all, he was a family man enjoying time with his grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his son Roland E. Teague, III and his wife Deborah of Bedford and his daughter Tracy Bell and her husband Mannie of Peabody, four grandchildren, Jeffrey and Marrisa Bell and Lauren and Hayden Teague, his siblings, Patricia Gagnon and her husband George of Danvers, Charles Teague and his wife Sally of Seabrook, NH, Everett Teague and his wife Celia of Rochester, NH, Kenneth Teague and his wife Christine of Ipswich, Merrick Teague and his wife Bonnie of Georgetown, Beverly Ouimette and her husband Donald of Danvers, sister-in-law Marjorie Miller of Middleton, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at the Golden Living Center in Gloucester and kind friend, Ana of Salem.

His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, February 8, 2014 in Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers. Burial is private. Visiting hours are Friday, February 7, 2014 from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Roland’s name to the Holy Trinity Memorial Fund, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
