Obituary

Robert Paul Adamson, 89, of Tifton died Monday, February 3, 2014, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church. Mother Gail Long will officiate with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service in Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall.

Mr. Adamson was born on October 24, 1924 in Fort Madison, Iowa and was the son of Frederick Paul Adamson and June Lewis Adamson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Carter Adamson. He retired as a city engineer with the City of Tifton and was a member of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1947.

Mr. Adamson is survived by his wife, Sally McClendon Tomme Adamson of Tifton; seven children and their spouses, Laura Adamson of Cumming, Brad and Lisa Adamson of Tifton, Sandee Adamson of Gainesville, Scott and Jen Adamson of Dallas, Alison Tomme of Tallahassee, Florida, John Tomme of Lexington, Kentucky and Curtis Rabon Tomme of Abilene, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Brandy Connell, Cecelia Zucconi, Lauren Tomme, Kamran Tomme, Doran Adamson, Logan Adamson and Stacia Merry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 889, Tifton, GA 31793.
