CHICOPEE – Evelyn P. (Prokop) Heath, of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, January 31, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield on February 15, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Hycnar) Prokop. She was raised in Ludlow, graduated from Ludlow High School and lived in Ludlow for many years before moving to the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee around 1958. She was last employed as a clerk at the South Hadley Town Hall and previously worked at several local banks in the area. She leaves her two devoted daughters, Marlene M. Layman and her husband, Craig, of Belchertown, and Lisa A. Boisvere and her husband, David, of Chicopee; her two cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Rachel E. Boisvere and Cameron D. Boisvere; her loving sister, Jane Eurkus of Three Rivers; her loving sister-in-law, Helen Prokop of Ludlow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Heath and Prokop families. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving sister and brother, Sophie Gubola and Edwin Prokop. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday afternoon, February 8, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family.
