Obituary

Miss Ruth C. Glavey, of Plymouth, MA and formerly of Medford, MA., passed away at the age of 98 in the BIDMC of Plymouth. Ruth was born in Boston, graduated from Medford High School Class of 1934, graduated from Katherine Gibbs and Mt Auburn School of Nursing. Ruth served during WW II in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps in the U.S., Europe, and North Africa. She later became the Medical Records Administrator at Pratt Diagnostic Hospital/Tufts New England Medical Center for more than 20 years. Ruth enjoyed traveling, being involved in politics & the Democratic Party of MA, was an avid reader and cross-word puzzle enthusiast.
Daughter of the late George H. and Frances V. Glavey of Medford and pre-deceased by her brother George F. Glavey. Ruth is survived by her cousins, Pauline A Thomas of Plymouth and Karl F. Heina of Florida. She is also survived by several great-nieces and -nephews, including Marianne Garvey, Joel, Kevin and Brian Thomas.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 3rd at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 4 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 4th at 9:30 AM followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Fisher House Boston, PO Box 230, South Walpole, MA 02071.
