MERRIMAC: Hilary (Lampshire) Noury, 75, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Noury with whom she shared forty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Penzance, England on March 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Margery (Martin) Lampshire. Hilary came to the United States when she was eleven years old. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School. Hilary resided in Haverhill and Plaistow for several years before moving to Merrimac in 1958.
Hilary worked as telephone operator for many years for the former New England Telephone Company until her retirement. She also owned her own ceramics business, which she ran out of her home. She enjoyed doing and teaching ceramics for the past twenty-five years. Hilary proudly obtained her U.S. Citizenship in 2001.
In her spare time she could be found playing cards, enjoying trips to the beach, camping and was a fan of NASCAR and other sports. Hilary was a fun loving person who liked to keep busy and one of her favorite things to do was having her family and friends to her home and cooking dinner for them. Her genuine, caring and honest personality will not be forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by a son, Richard W. “Rick” Noury and his fiancée, Debra A. (Kervin) Millett both of Haverhill; two daughters, Deborah A. (Noury) Yacubacci of Merrimac and Sherrill T. (Noury) Malloy and her husband, Michael of Plaistow, NH; four grandchildren, Hilary D. Noury, Nicholas R. and Nathan L. Fowler and Corino P. Yacubacci; two great-grandchildren, Athena and Mac and her beloved precious dog, P.D.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill from 3 – 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Friday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Hilary’s memory to the American Lung Association of New England, 460 Totten Pond Rd, #400, Waltham, MA 02451
