Theresa G. (L’Esperance) Ruel, age 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wed. Jan. 29, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Delia (Tetrault) L’Esperance. Theresa was communicant of the former Precious Blood Church, and presently of Mary Mother of Hope Church. She was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School where she was a cheerleader and on the debate team. She was also a member of the Precious Blood Drum and Bugle Corp. She loved ceramics, knitting and spending time with family. She leaves her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph R. Ruel of Chicopee; 2 sons, Mark Ruel of Springfield and James Ruel and his wife Marlene of Somers, CT; 1 daughter, Karen Walker of South Hadley; 6 grandchildren, Tiffany Mendoza, Matthew Brennan, Jolene Brennan, Michael Ruel, Sarah Ruel and Joseph Ruel. She also leaves her beloved great grandchildren, Amaiya, Aviana and Jaxson. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Mon. Feb. 3, 2014, 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary Mother of Hope Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial in St Rose de Lima Cemetery.
