Obituary

Eleanor E. (McCarthy) Ahl, of Westwood, formerly of West Roxbury died October 15, 2004 at the Eastwood Care Center in Dedham. She was 81. Mrs. Ahl was born in Boston and grew up in the Jamaica Plain section of the city. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. She was well known in West Roxbury working as a sales clerk for several years at Hanley's Bakery until the late 1980's. Mrs. Ahl later would finish her working career at Liberty Mutual Insurance in West Roxbury as a clerk. She resided in West Roxbury for over 25 years. She relocated to Westwood in 2002.

She was the wife of the late Edward F. Ahl. She is survived by her children Edward F. Jr., of Weymouth, Robert J. of Whitman, Arlene M. Lalli of Brockton, Kenneth J. of Marshfield, and Joseph M. of Dedham. She was the sister of Mary Hallissey of Hyde Park, John and Robert McCarthy both of West Roxbury, Patricia Kneeland of Roslindale, Claire Sheehan of Hyde Park, and the late James McCarthy and Catherine Gillespie. Mrs. Ahl also leaves 13 loving grandchildren.

Funeral from the P. E. Murray – George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, on Tue. At 9am. Funeral mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury, at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Mon. 4-8pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eleanor’s memory to the Monastery of St. Clare, 920 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
