Obituary

James M. Holderby, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in the Blair House of Worcester. He is survived by two sons and a daughter, Lisa Renee Holderby-Fox and her husband, Durrell Fox; James M. Holderby, Jr., and his wife Janet; and Tynan Craycraft; his life partner, Norma George; two sisters, Louise Mattison and Annemae Campbell; two granddaughters, Carley and Sheyene Desillier; and a great-granddaughter, Aja Bascombe.

Born in Reidsville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Mollie (Lawson) and Archie Holderby. Following high school, Jim enlisted in the Air Force. Later, he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation and was past president of the Twin Cities Community Development Corp. of Fitchburg. He enjoyed Science Fiction and building his own computers.

The funeral service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester on Monday, Feb. 3, at 12 Noon. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral at 11 am. Burial with military honors will be in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 11 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
