Worcester - Marlene (Oldenburg) O'Connor, 67, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. She was born in Maine, daughter of the late Alice E. (Lamer) and Elbert W. Oldenburg. Marlene enjoyed crocheting, solving word and Sudoko puzzles, and scratch tickets. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. Prior to retirement, Marlene was a silk-screen operator for L & J of New England.
She is survived by her son and two daughters, Johnny O'Connor of South Carolina, Tina Guthrie of Mississippi, and Shannon Weselovs and her husband, Nicolas, of Leominster. She also leaves eight brothers and sisters, William, Marilyn Dyke & husband Clyde, Randy & wife Christine, Marrilee Oldenburg, Maryanne Ouellette and husband Dwayne, Madeline Crenshaw, Marina Oldenburg, and Theron Oldenburg; She also leaves 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Nicolas, Patrick, Crystal, ML, Samantha, Nathaniel and Cassandra; 12 great-grandchildren, including Adelynn; many nieces and nephews, including Brittany, Alisha, Randy, Brandon, and Erin; as well as several close friends, including Barbara and Kenneth New, Richard Johnson and Gretchen. She was predeceased by three sisters, Marcia, Marie, and Maribeth.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, on Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4 pm. Flowers may be sent.
