Mrs. Phyllis (Tortolano) Polen, age 84 died unexpectedly on Friday January 24, 2014. A lifelong Woburn resident, Phyllis was the devoted daughter of the late Mary (Grassio) & Angelo Tortolano.
Born in Woburn, Phyllis was a graduate of Woburn High School. She enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her garden or walking one of her many dogs she had over the years. She also loved to read in her spare time.
Phyllis worked as a secretary for Lifetouch School Photography, which was operated by her late husband Harold D. Polen. On occasion she would enjoy a business trip to Bermuda, which always turned into a nice extended vacation. Phyllis loved her family, her nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She always found time to visit with them and enjoyed their company.
In addition to her late husband Harold and her extended family, Phyllis was the loving sister of the late Silvio Tortolano & Dominic Tortolano.
Visiting hours will be held at the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Friday, January 31st from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
