In Boston, January 18, 2014 Nancy Furtado died at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston after a long battle with brain cancer. Nancy was born in New Bedford and was a graduate of Taunton High School class of 1972. When Nancy was young she placed in speed walking races. She waitressed at the Root Beer Stand and Tanes Restaurant. Nancy loved dancing and walking the bird sanctuary. Her hobbies were watching British Mysteries with her daughter Amber and she was a lover of all animals. Her giggles were contagious and her smile brought happiness to all she touched. She also enjoyed vanning with her friends and was a member of New England Van Council. Nancy was the mother of Amber, Rich, Oscar, Ditty and Meow and granddaughter Critter. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Saturday, Feb 15th from 3-5 Pm with a service to follow at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Nancy’s name may be made to the family to help the family with the funeral expenses.
