Obituary

Ronnie Hogan, 61, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 30, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Terry Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Hogan was born August 28, 1952 in Fitzgerald, to Dorothy Pridgen Hogan and the late William David Hogan. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1970 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He worked in high school for Huggins Dairy as a deliveryman. He later worked for several furniture stores: Aaron’s; Heilig Meyers, Johnson Brothers Furniture and currently was employed with Farmers Furniture as a warehouse manager. He enjoyed computers and was talented in woodworking and carpentry. He loved his great nieces and handmade each of them their own toy chest. He was a member of the Fitzgerald Full Gospel Church.

He is survived by his mother: Dorothy Pridgen Hogan of Fitzgerald; four sisters: Barbra H. McDuffie of Irwinville, Martha Hogan, Cathy and Dewayne Soles and Carol H. Broome, all of Fitzgerald; one brother: Danny and Cookie Hogan of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Terri and John Hughes, Michael Champion, and Nathan Champion, all of Fitzgerald, Bryan and Leticia Champion of San Antonio, Texas and John Patrick McDuffie of Green Cove Springs, Florida; as well as five great nieces.
