Margaret M. (Dwyer) Hennessy, 72, of Medway, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of Edward D. Hennessy since 1962.
Born in Dorchester on June 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Mary M. (Gilligan) Dwyer.
Mrs. Hennessy was a resident of Medway since 1977. She graduated from Dedham High School and the Chandler Business School.
Mrs. Hennessy was the owner of the former Little Footprints Daycare Center in Medway from 1992-2007. She had previously worked in the assessor’s office at the Medway Town Hall.
Mrs. Hennessy loved bingo, going to Foxwoods and cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Mark Hennessy, MD of San Antonio, TX, two daughters, Maureen Ritacco and her husband, Steven of Medway and Katherine Tingley of Medway and eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Steven Ritacco, Michael, Daniel and Bridget Hanrahan and William, Hannah and Kyle Tingley.
She is also survived by two brothers, William Dwyer of Medway and Thomas Dwyer of Virginia, a sister Alice Bishop of Norwood and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday morning, January 31 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
