Louis A. Gadola, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 25, 2014. He was born on Oct. 5, 1945 in Hazleton, PA. Louis was a son of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Yanick) Gadola. He worked as a machinist for Asten and Johnson Co. in Springfield for 12 years before he retired. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 420. He leaves his son Anthony Gadola of Vernon, CT, 1 brother, Thomas Gadola of PA; 2 sisters Suzan Romanic and Congetta Smetana both of PA; 1 grandson Mickey and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his good friends Lea Weaver of Springfield and Nancy Plourd of Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb 7, 2014 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Shelter, 627 Cottage St, Springfield, MA 01104.
