Eva S. (Costa) Pappas, 95, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Peter Pappas, founder of Park ‘N’ Shop Supermarkets who died in 2003.
Eva leaves her daughter, Barbara Pappas of Webster, her grand-daughter, Cynthia Karapanos and her grandson, James Karapanos and his wife Tara, her greatgrandchildren; Alex Pappas, Alexis Puhlick, Peter and Chloe Karapanos. She also leaves her sisters-in-law, Olga Pappas and Mary Baxter and her husband Thomas and a brother-in-law, Charles Pappas and his wife Helen all of Webster. She also leaves many nieces and nephews including Richard Bottis and his wife Linda of California and Mitchell Nichols of New Hampshire, with whom she was very close. Eva also left behind her long-time, devoted and loving caregiver Mary Nichols.
She was born in Franklin, New Hampshire a daughter of Theodore and Pauline (Sotiriades) Costa and has lived in Webster for many years. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Leon and Peter Costa and 2 sisters, Dora Barry and Helen Bottis.
Eva worked side by side with her husband, Peter for many years at Park ‘N’ Shop Supermarkets. She was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and a member of the Philoptochos Society. She was a past member of the Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild and past member of the Webster Women’s Club. She was a life- long member of the Emblem Club #129, and a member of the Grand Chapter of the Massachusetts Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Killdeer Island Club.
Most important to Eva was her family.
Eva touched many lives throughout her years and was a kind and caring and generous person. She opened her heart and home to everyone.

Calling Hours for Eva will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6PM to 8 PM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway. A Trisagion Service will be at 7PM Thursday at the Church.
The Funeral will be Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10AM at the Church, burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, next to her beloved husband Peter.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 713, Webster, MA. 01570.
