Claire P. Rushton, 87, of Lakeview Drive, Glocester, died Sunday January 26, 2014 at Phillip Hulitar Inpatient Center. She was the widow of James M. Rushton.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Donat and Blanche (Mailloux) Gibeau. She had lived in Glocester since 1965.
She was a member of the Chepachet Grange and had worked in the jewelry industry as a sample maker. She was an award winning seamstress and knitter. She enjoyed traveling the New England States and eating out. She was always concerned about the fair treatment of animals.
She is survived by her in laws: Robert and Louise Rushton and William and Lorraine Rushton several nieces and nephews and her cherished friends, Natalie and Chris Dunning and Lil Kruszyna. She was the sister of the late Roger and Donald Gibeau.
Funeral Wednesday at 9:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Eugene’s Church, 1251 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday morning 8:30-9:30am.
