TIERNEY, Mary J. (Boden), 94, passed away on Sunday, January 26th, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Predeceased by her husband Gerald “Chief” Tierney and siblings George, Joe and, Helen. Loving mother of Stacey Michaels (Palm City, FL), Barbara (Gene Loop) Tierney (Marblehead, MA) and Gigi Tierney (Newton, MA). Beloved grandmother of Matthew (Tracy), Tierney, Jenny, Connor, Chloe, and Sophie. She also leaves many devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born in 1919 in Brooklyn, NY and married in 1942. Mary worked for the US Attorney’s Office in New York City. She later moved to Merrick, NY to raise her three daughters and worked for the Merrick Public School System. She loved picking shells on the beach, floating in the pool on her noodle, and in her later years, singing everything from Frank Sinatra to the Sound of Music. She will be remembered for her gracious spirit and her desire to take care of others.
Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 80 Atlantic Ave Marblehead, MA at 11am.
