Laconia-----Mark Pierce Koerner Jr., 87, of 47 Taylor Home Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2014.
Mr. Koerner was born March 30, 1926 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Mark P. Sr. and Clara (Favro) Koerner.
Mr. Koerner graduated from East Providence High School and attended Brown University. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as an electrical engineer for forty-four years and had worked at Chase Foster in East Providence, RI , Oak Industries and Polyclad Industries in Franklin, NH, retiring in 1992.
Mr. Koerner was a member of the Barrington Baptist Church in R.I. where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was also a member at the First Baptist Church in Concord, N.H.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Barbara (Wyllie) Koerner, of Laconia, N.H.; a daughter, Sue Sutton, of Barrington, R.I.; three grandchildren, Stacey Lavers and her husband, Jayson, of Warwick, RI , Bethany Fitzpatrick of Warwick, RI and Jesse Sutton and his wife, Lindsay, of Amesbury, MA; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin, Sophia, Thomas and Ella and twin boys due in April. He also left former son-in-law, Alan Sutton of Coventry, RI. In addition to his parents, Mr. Koerner was predeceased by a grandson-in-law, Ryan Fitzpatrick.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
